Clarence Selin

name Mr. Selin, an independent marketing strategy and SEM consultant, has over 35 years experience in marketing, business development and strategic planning. As a seasoned executive, his career includes companies ranging in size from start-ups with no revenue to multi-billion dollar corporations spanning consumer and industrial services and products. From 1969 to 1982 he worked for General Electric progressing through assignments in Information Services sales, marketing, and technical management; managed strategic planning for an Industrial Heating business for which he successfully completed its overseas divestiture; culminating as General Manager of the Consumer Sector’s Business Development activities overseeing a portfolio of consumer new business investments, including negotiating for expansion GE’s cable television business. He received a Presidential appointment in 1976 as GE’s representative on the President’s Executive Exchange Program and served in the Treasury Department with responsibility for several programs including the re-introduction of the two dollar bill.

From 1982-1985 Mr. Selin served as Director of AT&T’s portfolio of new online services businesses during the sensitive period following divestiture. New business venture management included real estate, on-line services (videotext) and home education.

Subsequently Mr. Selin has provided consulting services with an emphasis on market analysis and business development. He has assisted start-ups and small businesses in negotiations with major corporations and has been actively involved in import and export activities with a focus on Taiwan and the PRC. Most recently he has assisted in content analyses and developing marketing strategies for websites.

Mr. Selin is a cum laude graduate (BSBA) from the University of Florida followed by graduate studies at the University and selection as the first Florida participant in GE’s Marketing Management Program. He was selected for participation in numerous General Electric general management and marketing programs.
